Buying guide
Which edge trim do you need?
Every trim grips a set range of panel thickness. Measure the edge with a caliper, pick the profile that suits the job, then use the panel bar above.
| Type | Use it for | Sized by | Panel range | Material |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| U-profile | Pushes onto thin sheet and covers sharp edges | Section + panel range | 1–4 mm | EPDM rubber |
| Square edge protector | Deeper section for boards, thick panels and machine guards | Section + panel thickness | 3–25 mm | EPDM rubber |
| Steel-reinforced grip | Steel core clamps onto the edge without adhesive | Section + panel range | 0.8–12 mm | PVC with steel core |
| Side-lip door seal | Trims the edge and seals the gap on doors and hatches | Section + panel range | 1–4 mm | EPDM rubber |
| Self-adhesive foam strip | Seals and cushions flat faces, gaps and lids | Width × thickness | 3–12 mm thick | EPDM or silicone foam |
How do I measure the panel?
Measure the thickness of the sheet, glass or board edge with a caliper, including any paint or coating. Choose a trim whose panel range covers that figure.
What does the section size mean?
The section is the outside size of the trim in millimetres, height by width. It tells you how much of the edge the trim covers once fitted; the panel range tells you what it grips.
Which length should I order?
Add up every edge you need to cover and allow a little extra for corners and trimming. Longer rolls cost less per metre, so a 25 m or 50 m roll often suits a full machine or a batch of doors.
