Which colour insulation tape do I need?
Colours are used to mark cable phases and circuits. In the UK, brown, black and grey mark the phases, blue marks neutral and green & yellow marks earth.
What is self-amalgamating tape for?
It has no adhesive layer — stretched and wrapped, it fuses to itself into a solid, waterproof sleeve. It is used to seal cable joints, hoses and pipe leaks.
Which width should I choose?
19 mm suits cable and small joints, 25–50 mm suits general repairs and marking, and 75–150 mm suits floor lines, cordons and wide coverage.
